a new study about seafood sold in the u.s. found about 1/3 of the seafood is mislabeled and you wouldn't have a clue. fox 5's will thomas is here with the warning for consumers. >> it was a two year study. a conservation group out of d.c. called oceana analyzed about 1,200 seafood samples from nearly 700 retail outlets in 21 states. the group study shows nearly 90% of the time you think you're buying snapper, you're actually given something else. tuna was also on the list. about 60% of the samples were identified by a dna analysis as something other than what was on the label. in many cases less desirable and cheaper species were sold. here's some of the findings. sushi bars led the way in mislabeling your fish. you're more likely to get an honest catch at a grocery store. some of the mistakes are likely honest because a lot of fish looks and even tastes the same and keep this in mind. there are health concerns at stake here. tilefish, for instance, which can have a high mercury content can be dangerous for pregnant women. that was sold in some cases as red snapper. we spoke with the a

. the u.s. coast guard is searching for two adults and two children that are missing off the coast of the san mateo county. tara. >> reporter: with each passing minute, the chances of the coast guard finding these people alive obviously diminishes. the temperature of the water where they believe they are is in the low 50s. if we take a look at the map we can zero in on where they were last seen. it was 50 miles southwest of santa cruz. a fleet of boats, helicopters and air national guard are scouring the water including two children under the age of eight. they called in arting their boat was taking on water. they did not have any life rafts or survival suits on board. within an hour they abandoned their boat and trying to make a raft from a cooler and life preserver ring. that was the last time officials heard from them. their craft ran into strong winds and rough seas and warnings had been out all weekend. we don't know the identity of those in the lost parties where they started their trip or where they were headed but we will keep you updated on search efforts. live from coast
